I am now convinced Steve Irwin faked his death. Here is why.
1. He had always insisted that if he died on film, it was to be shown to the public. Well, he did die on film and supposedly his wife, Terri, destroyed this film. And the Australian police destroyed their copies. This is the exact opposite of what Steve had wished and made known to the public on more than one occasion. Read the following quote.
"My number one rule is to keep that camera rolling. Even if it's shaky or slightly out of focus, I don't give a rip. "Even if a big old alligator is chewing me up I want to go down and go, 'Crikey!' just before I die. That would be the ultimate for me."
So, something like this happened and Terri Irwin destroyed it, against her husband's wishes? I don't think so. I don't think film of his death exists because he didn't die. Which brings us to point 2.
2. The film of his death does not exist. That is why it is not being shown. I suspect several fake films of the Croc Hunter's death were produced and NONE of them looked real enough to be shown.. CGI looks like CGI, models look like models. It would have cost millions to do a Steven Spielberg type shot that actually looked real, so they realized they didn't have millions to spend. So the only film that was probably really destroyed was the fake film.
3. Why did he do it? That is the big question. I will get into details later, but I believe Steve has discovered a creature or species of great value and controversy and he is devoting 100% of his time to this new animal. He is learning what he can and eventually he (or a proxy) will announce this discovery and provide proof of the creature's existence. This is so important Steve must give 100% of his time to this endeavour but, he can not reveal what it is. The easiest way to PROTECT the creature and facilitate this study is for the public to think he has died. It is all about protection with Steve, he would do anything for animals. Logically, this makes the most sense. Remember, he is PROTECTING this animal.
